Once upon a time I bought a fancy makeup set from a department store counter. While the makeup itself wasn't memorable, the bag that it came it had an unforgettable design. I drew it in a sketchbook and many years later, I made a quilt out of it. One simple block turns into 3D ribbons of color when you place your fabrics just right, and a super simple design turns into a graphic knockout.
